Pedigree Chart

I like to start with the big picture when I'm not familiar with something it helps me orient myself. In genealogy, a pedigree chart provides the big picture of a family because it traces the lineage of an individual (the home person) to parents, grandparents, and back through generations of great-grandparents. These are the home person's direct-line ancestors.

FINDING YOUR WAY AROUND THE PEDIGREE CHARTS
  • The chart above shows the first few generations of the combined Bradish-Scott families.

  • The tabs below the blog header correspond to the names in the last column on the chart above - Bradish-Otto, Palm-Modeen, Scott-Kilburn, and Sealy-Johnson. The number to the right of each great-grandparent is the page number where that line is continued.

RELATIONSHIPS
  • I am the home person in the Bradish-Scott Family Tree. Any relationships mentioned in the posts refer to the relationship between an ancestor and me.

  •  To determine your relationship to a given ancestor in the tree you can
    • start with your relationship to me and go from there, or
    • you can contact me. I'll be glad to help.
  • Ancestors that are my uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, or nephews will have a small chart included at the end of the post that indicates how they are related to me.

  • Due to space constraints, each of the charts in the other tabs starts with either my father, Elwood Bradish, or my mother, Shirley Scott, instead of me.

This causes the generation labels shown above to shift one to the right.

Keep this in mind when determining your relationship to an ancestor.
