My family tree is on Ancestry but I often refer to FamilySearch for their "Famous Relatives" feature. It provides another way to potentially add people to my tree. An added bonus is that my children and siblings (who aren't particularly interested in genealogy) enjoy hearing about their connections to famous relatives.
Recently, I came across FamousKin.com, a site founded and compiled by Rich Hall. Rich's work appears in a variety of genealogical publications, including The Mayflower 500, by Gary Roberts. His extensive website is easy to navigate and has 34 categories for famous relatives.
Over the last several years, I found more than 100 potential relatives on the "Famous Relatives" site alone. With the addition of the "FamousKin" site, the possibilities increase significantly. I have verified all the relatives in the table. The "Victims & Villains" section includes some people I already had in my tree.
